The

2,625 m² Concourse
Green
public open space land
(85.5 x 30.7 metres)
at Beaumaris
Concourse is public heritage that was being
targeted in
2002
for the

central tenth of it to be
alienated for a concrete skateboard ramp.

A
2004 petition
of 1,140 signatures to Bayside City Council,
and only 12% support in Council’s survey of
3 proposed sites, cooled Council’s
enthusiasm, so the concrete skateboard ramp
went to Donald McDonald Reserve instead. The
Concourse Green’s new
Public Park and Recreation zoning

would not have prevented its having a ramp
on it.
