Minutes of the previous Annual General Meeting: | were read and received. Moved Mr (William) Ridland seconded Mrs (Bea) Hosking, carried unanimously. |
The Annual Report: | was then read by the President, Cr (Geoffrey) Goode. Mrs (Gabrielle) Johnstone moved, seconded by Mr K. Rendell that the report be received – carried unanimously. (report attached to next page). The Annual Report is shown on the opposite page. It was AGREED that the Report should be received. |
Treasurer’s Report: | Mr (Alfred) Gilford informed the meeting that the Society had $216.00 credit. Moved by Mr Gilford seconded by Mr (John) Iggulden that the report be received – carried unanimously. |
Mr Keith Tarrant, the Guest Speaker | then gave his address on the progress and success of B.R.A.S.C.A., giving details of a new idea to form sub-committees with the Hampton Conservation and Planning Association. These would embrace such fields as, Town Planning in the municipality, political and current affairs, propagation of native species, Foreshore and Beach Committees and a General Purpose committee. Mr Tarrant emphasized the need for active participation by its members and the need to have some cause to work for. He noted that they had increased their membership recently by 100 due to the election held in August. General Business: | A Working Bee was decided for the Reserve in Gramatan Street for 10 a.m. Sunday 22nd October. The next Committee meeting was called for Wednesday 11th October at 27 Dalgetty Road, Beaumaris, at 8 p.m. The new President, Mr (William) Ridland, then spoke to the meeting on the new year’s work and the necessity for more activity.
