PRESIDENT’S
REPORT:
 Copies of
report circulated. The President summarised the main
points:
 

  • Keefer’s Boatshed licence renewal
  • Gramatan Reserve opened to the
    public
  • Contributed to Sandringham’s coast
    management.

In moving acceptance of the report, Cr.Bottomley
spoke
in

appreciation of efforts of the B.C.S. both in and
outside the local community. (Cr.Bottomley/J.

TREASURER’S
REPORT:
 Copies of
report circulated. Three new members joined during the
year. (M. Goode/Cr.Bottomleycarried)
LIFE MEMBERSHIPS:In introducing
Bea Hosking, G. Goode
summarized her association with
B.C.S.
and moved that she be made an Honorary Life Member. (J.
Carroll/Cr. Bottomley – carried)
 

J. Carroll, in moving acceptance of B.
Hosking as a Life Member, said he had noticed
signs on a drive through Ringwood “Do not Ringbark
Ringwood”, and this prompted him as a Sandringham
Parents & Citizens member to propose the formation
of the “Beaumaris Tree Preservation Society” of which

Bea Hosking was the first president. Members
encouraged purchasers of blocks of land to
preserve as many trees as possible.
 

In introducing Catherine

Carroll, G. Goode summarised her association with B.C.S.
and moved that she be made an Honorary Life Member.

Cr. Bottomley spoke of his early
impressions of Beaumaris, particularly around where he
lived in Reid

Street and Burgess Street. B. Hosking spoke in
appreciation of recognising early members, who
recognised the special character of Beaumaris.

Goode introduced Bob Whiteway, who gave a fascinating
glimpse, with slides and video, of wild life on our
foreshore. Its richness and diversity is not fully
appreciated.
 

Bob, we are most grateful to you for
coming and sharing this marvellous foreshore with us.

Goode encouraged residents to write letters concerning
the development of Keefer’s.
