Excavator hired by Beaumaris Motor Yacht Squadron shaving off, on 30th August 2005, part of the Beaumaris Cliff, relying on “emergency” consent under Victoria’s Coastal Management Act 1995, and bypassing the Bayside Planning Scheme requirements for the Beaumaris Fossil Site, which Bayside City Council successfully nominated for the site’s inclusion on Australia’s Register of the National Estate in 1999.
