Geoff Goode advised that our (Honorary)
Life Member, Colin Macrae, died recently, and a letter of sympathy was

wife (Joan)

3. PREVIOUS MINUTES:
Minutes of the 41st AGM were circulated to all members and accepted as
a true record.

4. PRESIDENT’S REPORT:
Rob Casamento
gave a brief summary of our year’s activities, which included: 

  • Arguing against the erection of an Optus tower in Balcombe
    Park.
  • Helping with ‘Clean up Australia’ campaign by managing a
    foreshore
    clean
    up. A submission concerning Vic.Code 2.
  • Involvement in management committee meetings for Gramatan
    Reserve.
  • Appointment of representative to advisory committee of BHS
    (Beaumaris High School)
    Heathland.
  • Advice from G. Goode that as B.C.S. is a member of P.P.C.C.
    (Port
    Phillip Conservation Council Inc.)
      they were
    successful
    in obtaining a grant of $2500 to prepare a submission on Pt.Wilson and
    Pt.Lillias Development Proposals by the State Government.

5. TREASURER’S REPORT: M.
Goode presented
a copy to all members and summarised the detail. (Moved M. Goode,

7. GUEST SPEAKER: R.
Casamento introduced
Mr. Don Pollock. 

He spoke on the background and implementation of Vic.Code 2, a
new code
in Victoria for multi dwelling residential development. The code was
welcomed
by planners but its implementation had not been satisfactory in all
cases.
Many questions were asked and an interesting discussion ensued. 

Rob Casamento thanked our speaker and presented him with a
bottle of
wine. 

The meeting closed at 9.58 p.m. and supper was served.
