MINUTES OF THE 28TH ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING OF THE BEAUMARIS CONSERVATION SOCIETY
HELD AT BLACK ROCK CIVIC HALL, BLACK ROCK, AT 8 P.M. ON 10TH SEPTEMBER 1980

Resolved that Minutes from the previous meeting be accepted. (Tarrant/Hosking).
Keith Tarrant suggested that B.C.S. contact -BRASCA before future working bees to seek support.
Ron Hayton reported that the Australian Light House Association has a stance on foreshore matters and the manning of lighthouses. Mr Hayton offered a copy of the Australian Light House Association letter to BCS to act on if they wished.
Office Bearers for the next term:
Geoff Goode was nominated and returned as President unopposed.
Classification of Gramatan Avenue Heathland Sanctuary by National Trust
Next ‘working bee’ on the Gramatan Avenue Sanctuary to be Saturday, September 13, 1980 at 2 p.m.
Paul Weir moved, in response to a letter from S.C.C. that Council be congratulated for drawing our attention to the problem of the reserve opposite Ricketts Point car park and that S.C.C. consider calling a meeting involving residents, Council and B.C.S. to discuss the reserve.
Treasurer moved that membership fees to B.C.S. be $3.00 for family membership and $2.00 individual membership. This was supported unanimously.
The report from Ken Rendell on an Aboriginal marker was deferred to next meeting. There being no further matters to discuss, the Chairman declared the meeting closed at 10.45 p.m.
Guest Speaker: Mr David Charles, ALP Candidate for Isaacs, spoke on the ALP Conservation and Environment Policy. Mr Bill Burns, MHR, Liberal Candidate and Mr Peter Bakos, Australian Democrat Candidate wrote apologizing for their absence.
